The Ventway Sparrow Transport Ventilator Is Gaining Trust and Recognition

Ventway Sparrow Ventilator Added to List of DOD Approved Vents

Ventway Sparrow EMS Transport Ventilator

The Department of Defense (DOD) Center of Excellence for Trauma published a revision to its Joint Trauma System Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) for Mechanical Ventilation Basics and included the Inovytec Ventway Sparrow transport ventilator.

The updated guidelines indicate that the Sparrow has been added to the list of approved ventilators by the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). SOCOM is a unified combatant command within the U.S. Department of Defense, tasked with overseeing and coordinating the nation’s Special Operations Forces (SOF) from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps.

In addition, the guidelines highlight that the Sparrow ventilator is becoming increasingly utilized by the Department of Defense (DOD) and NATO forces.

The Joint Trauma System clinical guidelines provide an overview of mechanical ventilation for prehospital and inter-facility settings. They outline a standardized approach from the point of injury through en route care up to Role 2 levels of care. To download a copy of the guidelines, click here.

“This is a major milestone for the Ventway Sparrow that reflects the growing trust and recognition within military and medical units,” said Inovytec VP of Sales Inna Ashkenazi.

Size. Performance. Durability

The Ventway Sparrow is a compact, lightweight, and high-performance transport ventilator designed for invasive and non-invasive ventilation. This capability enables responders to quickly deliver life-saving lung-protective therapy from the point of injury all the way to the ICU.  Built to endure harsh conditions, this durable and impact-resistant turbine ventilator ensures continuous ventilation, regardless of the environment.

The Sparrow’s compact size, 6.5″ x 6.5″ x 2″ allows first responders to carry it in their working bag, eliminating the need for the heavy, bulky bag that comes with traditional ventilators. The ventilation modes include SIMV-VC-PS, SIMV-PC, CPAP, AC and BiLevel.

Easy to use and intuitive, the Sparrow is maintenance-free and requires only a periodic filter replacement.
